Some of our most prominent musicians use special aliases to separate their educational contributions to us from their own work as musicians.

    The Arcitype

    The Arcitype is a hip-hop producer/engineer based in Massachusetts. His record label, AR Classic Records, is run out of Bread & Butter Studios in western MA and The Sweat Shop Studios in Boston. He graduated with a BA from Emerson College in audio production, with a minor in music. He has engineered at Waltz Audio and currently engineers at The Mix Hut in Cambridge, MA.

    Freddy Hall

    Freddy Hall is a recent graduate of Berklee College of Music and now resides in New York City. He draws inspiration from legends such as Paul Simon, Damien Rice and Ben Folds. The Virginia native began writing music at age 11, inspired by his guitar teacher and fellow singer/songwriter at the Music and Arts Center in Virginia. He was the winner of the Berklee Singer/Songwriter Showcase and Berklee Songwriter Showcase in both 2006 and 2007. Freddy’s ability to transform dense content outlines into fun, memorable lyrics has made him a key RRR lyricist.

    MC Kabir

    for Uncle Trouble Music LLC

    Kabir is an independent emcee, singer, and producer whose music brews a robust blend of hip hop, funk, soul, jazz, reggae and rock. Originally from London, this Boston-based recording artist has shared stages with hip hop giants such as the Roots, Talib Kweli, Dilated Peoples, the Beatnuts, the Pharcyde, Wyclef Jean, and many more. His most recent album, “Peaceful Solutions” (2006), received full-length coverage in The New Yorker, The International Herald Tribune, The Boston Globe, and a feature on National Public Radio.

    Paul Logan, Jr.

    Paul (PJ) Logan, Jr., A.K.A. Mod P, is a Boston-based emcee who employs “slick and sick word play”. His unique style and talents in both rap and R&B allow him to deliver lightning-quick vocals balanced with luscious harmonies. When not writing, rapping, or singing, he involves himself in acting and stand-up comedy. He currently hosts the sports section at Boston.tv.

    Matt O’Malley

    Matt O’Malley graduated with honors from Harvard College with a degree in music/music composition. He has spent summers in Los Angeles, CA, working with high-level professionals in the entertainment industry, including The Walt Disney Studios and Levels Audio Post, a leading recording and post-production house. Matt recently worked as producer, arranger, and performer for Nick Diaco, a performance artist. He is currently involved with numerous projects in the Boston area, including work as a performer and producer for a Boston-based rock group, Teen Plant.

    Nakia Simon

    for Simon Sez Productions

    Nakia Simon is a music and video director, songwriter, arranger, composer, producer, musician, and entrepreneur from Washington DC. Nakia attended Berklee College of Music with a dual-major in Music Business Management and Contemporary Writing and Production. She owns a music and video production company, Simon Sez Productions, and now resides in Atlanta, GA. Nakia’s music compositions are the backbone to some of RRR’s most successful songs to date.
